One Month In

One month in… it’s hard to believe we’ve already been living in West Virginia for a full month! June FLEW by, and it was so good! I have been awful at updating you all, so this is going to be an overview of our experience so far!

Things to celebrate:
We moved to WV!!! In the last week before our move we declined what seemed like our dream home (trying to be financially responsible), decided to rent in an un-preferred location, and then found out about an even better home at a dream price. The details of that story will definitely be a post here once all is said and done! But for now we’re living in our dream home while trying to buy it!
I also finished reading through the entire bible and turned the big 3-0! We’ve made some great friends, been attending a home church with friends, and have loved meeting all our new neighbors! The kids are starting to settle in, my baby turned 1, and the big kids are so excited for new schools and new friends! Mackenzie even started reading independently!! Morgan is loving his new job and we’ve had incredible support through some rough situations!

Things that have been hard:
Morgan’s truck totally died during the move! It sucked! Luckily we were rescued by some of our new friends to get the rest of the way to our house, some other new friends let us borrow a car, AND at this point we have been able to figure out our vehicle situation (PTL).
The kids have definitely struggled. Things are different, and different is hard. They never got to say goodbye to their friends, they don’t get to watch tv as much, and they’re nervous to play outside in their new surroundings (bears!)!
We don’t have the internet or any TV provider (not even antenna channels), and what we can get is not really worth the money… so the limited hotspot from our phones is all we’ve been using for TV and computer. It’s been hard trying to ration (especially with trying to build an online business) but it has been SUCH a blessing in disguise. Our kids are reading a ton more and I’ve noticed so much more creativity in their imaginative play. We didn’t give them that much tech-time to begin with, but it’s still crazy to see these differences!!!

Prayer requests:
For success in our home buying adventure. It’s not the simplest purchase and has been slowed by the pandemic.
For us to be content with the house. There are lots of projects to be done but we don’t want to commit the time or money until our mortgage is finalized.
For my work, the kids school, and childcare schedules to all work together smoothly. With the pandemic we really just have no clue what to expect this fall and can’t even begin to make a plan.
For our finances. We’ve made quite a few sacrifices financially and we are trusting that the Lord will provide. Pray for us to have wisdom and make responsible spending choices!
For the Lord to make our steps into ministry clear. And for us to be patient and trust his timing in it.
For our family to grow in loving God and trusting Him in all situations.

We are so grateful for all of the love, support, and prayers we have received in this adventure so far! We really wouldn’t have made it here without all of you!
